USB keyboard?

Hello,

This is my first post, and I would like to say that I am very impressed with the forum. There is alot of valuable information. Now, I am definately going to be buying a Unlocked Nokia E71. (American Version). I know that there are bluetooth keyboards and that the Nokia E71 has a built in QWERTY keyboard. However, just out of curiosity, if I were to buy a micro usb to usb a adapter, and a plug and play keyboard, could it work? Has anyone ever tried this?

And a plug and play keyboard (meaning you don't have to install software)

Has anyone tried this? Thanks, hopefully you'll be much more help than Yahoo Answers, which is useless when it comes to this kind of stuff

Smile MICRO-usb

The USB connection is a MICRO-usb . It is faster than MINI-usb .
The USB on the phone is a "passive" port . This means that the phone cannot operate as a host . Connecting anything , like USB stick , memorycardreader , external HDD , CD player , printer , mouse , keyboard , is possible , but won't work . I am waiting for this for ages to come though . There are rumours the new Nokia N900 comes with this ability .
USB works only connecting to PC/Mac , where the computer is the host , and the phone is an external memory , in PCSuite Mode or Datatransfer Mode .
So you will end up using a bluetooth keyboard . Steve Litchfield has been writing an article about the Nokia bleutooth keyboard lately .
