VF UK Branded N97 gets V.21

Good news for those of us on Vodafone UK branded versions of the N97 as firmware version V.21 is now available for download (PC only, not OTA).

Usual caveats apply of course.

I think I should say that one additional caveat I will be following is to delete the new Ovi Maps from the system. I can re-install it afterwards. This is to give me enough room on the C: drive to work with and avoid any nasty unpleasantnesses. I won't be going for a full reset otherwise though, unless it is forced upon me.

Regards
Neil

Hi Neil

The upgrade went without a hitch - seems a little more responsive - did not get any space gain on C drive whatsoever - I have not bothered with a hard reset so I probably will not see any gain - I will probably leave (unless really really bored!) for next (if any) major upgrade - It would have been nice to free up some of C drive to allow a little more room for future ovi map installations.

Thanks

Boothy

I didn't get any space gain either (after I restored maps). But then, I wasn't expecting any. After all, I don't thinka firmware upgrade could increase space (unless it compacted the memory). It merely handles the memory in a better fashion, and so responds faster. Well, that's how I read it anyway.

Regards
Neil
