Just received this email from Pizero, theme creator of Pulsar theme that I use:-

"Nokia has decided to make a special analog clock for the n97, that will remain the same on all themes. I don't own a n97 yet so I don't know if there is a workaround to this problem, but I don't think we can do anything on this.

Thanks

Pizero"

So... there you have it... Nokia clocks or... Nokia clocks!

I was certain I had seen the theme clock somewhere on the N97 other than the alarm screen but couldnt say for sure...

having just got off a call, I noticed there is a themed clock in the top left corner of the screen (in portrait mode) during call mode ie. the mode where you can hang up, hold etc.

I use the digital clock so can't say for sure if the themed analogue clock will appear, eitherway, its' no good as the clock will hardly be seen in this mode :/

Well, in spite of what Pizero emailed me, these themes at least have the themed analogue clock on the homescreen...

So it is possible to change the homescreen clock after all.

Now all I need is for Pizero to do it.

I think Nokia may have updated the N97 plugin for their theming app, Carbide.ui. PiZero's latest theme also has a skinned analogue clock.

Just a quick update...

Received an e-mail from Pizero saying that he will be updating the "Pulsar" theme in the next couple of weeks to include theme clocks on the homescreen.

Anyone who purchased the theme directly from his site will be entitled to a free update. Unfortunately if you got yours through the OVI store this will not apply as Pizero has no records of purchases through OVI. Sorry!

Glasso theme by mandeep

The Glasso theme by mandeep looks good IMHO on the N97 and can be downloaded here:-
