The 6230 supports MIDP 1.0 Java apps (midlets) just fine.

6230 ... Best phone in the market, I feel... I woulda LOVED the functionality that a Symbian would offer, but the damn Nokia Symbians are just too bulky and clumsy to handle ...

Heres a teeny question on the 6230 ... I got me a bluetooth dongle and i works fine with this phone ... Now, I want to enable Internet sharing on my system and use my PC's internet connection thru my phone ... The Bluetooth Adapter's software does support this feature, and I enabled everything and it says that the connection is being shared ... BUT, I hae NO clue what I need to do to my phone to get it to connect ... I assume that one would leave the Data Bearer as GPRS, but I have no clue what I should set the 'Access Point' as ... Anybody have any clue how to get this done???

Incase I babbled too much up there ... what I need is to use my PC's internet connection on my phone, with the help of a bluetooth dongle/adaptor ... Possible?

Thanks...

6230 MP3 problem

I got the 6230 mainly because of it's Mp3 capabilities. I just bought a 256 MB MMC to accomodate all my songs. The problem is that the music player can't detect the music files in my MMC! I can only play my MP3s one by one! any suggestions?

Hey,

Just incase you didnt know. The music player only works with tracks on your MMC card in the main directory i.e. it wont work if the tracks are in folders in the MMC card.

Hope this helps

Unhappy Mp3 problem in nokia 6230

hi

i tried sending mp3 to my nokia 6230 via the MA-620 infrared adapter but the phone won't accept any files greater than 2.4Mb which is the free memory in my headset. How can i send larger files?

You can't send larger files than what the available phone memory is. Use PC Suite (http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite) or a PC-based memory card reader instead.

There's 9.5MB of handset memory in 6230 , try getting rid of some of the graphics files , apps , vids , ringtones..etc (backup your phone first) .... not much of a recoop of space , but it'll let you install Herbie Hancocks Watermellon Man.mp3 @ 192kbps If your not able to drop your mp3's,aac files directly to your MMC card in the phone , then you could use the move function from within the phone menu itself.

Or you could just purchase a Card Reader and transfer the file directly to the MMC. Fast and Easy!!!

Cool 6230, just bought one!

hey all

i was wondering if this phone handle programs like divx? only say the pda version? cause i transfered video files on to it and gues wot they won't play so any idea's? even a program that i could use to convert the files so they will play?

Also is it really that bad? let me no out of1-10??
its not a bad phone compared wit my old 8890, which was nice and stylish but thought it was about time to move on, join the rest of the coloured screened world.
