N-Gage 1.3/Maps 3.1 Installation failed

I'm trying to update Maps and add N-gage using the Software Update app, but I get an 'installation failed' error. I have 18.7mb free on C: and the handset is v10 3UK branded. Any ideas?

You could try a phone reboot before updating, appears to have worked for a few people. Lucky though, as I can't even get the updates to show for me on the SW updater.

Rebooted a few times, still not working.

Phone memory update installs fine, then it goes to Maps and fails. Messaging installed fine first time.

Mine doesn't show any updates either, nor does it show a way to manually check for updates. When the tool starts, I don't even see a network connection being made to check online. What's wrong with that??

Just to update, I've removed a few more things, taking free C: space up to 21.9mb. I also did a *#7780# reset. Still not working :(

I had the same problem you both had... I have a N97 NAM, I am from Argentina and I use the phone in Spanish and SW Update gave me no updates.

I tried changing the phone language to english and after restart went again to SW update and I got Ovi Contacts Update only (wich I installed)...

I switched back the language to spanish, restarted, went again to SW Update and i am now installin Ovi Maps 3.1 and Ngage 1.3.

Hope to get the C memmory application in some way cause I really need it.

I also hope this works for you, try switching to another language, restart and go to SW Update again.

Holy crap... If I'd known that before.... :S

Last night I backed up my phone using the backup tool on the phone itself. Then did a *#7370#, went to the update app and it showed me the new versions. I installed the new versions, then tried to restore my backup.

THIS COMPLETELY BRICKED THE PHONE!

With some tricks, and a lot of time and swearing I could do another *#7370# to clear the stuff again, it turns out that I can restore everything except the settings. So now I have to completely reconfigure my phone again.

Hi 18 Mb of free memory is not good enough for the updates. Browser cache itself is 16 Mb (hence your usable memory is only 2 MB) so please install the N97 C: phone memory update 7.1 listed in Sw update that would reduce the browser cache to 5 Mb and you can try upgrading

hi all =]

when i was trying to download the maps 3.1 and N-Gage 1.3 update... it gave me an error message saying that there is not enough memory... but the Phone memory update and Ovi Contacts 1.2 were able to update and installed...

then what i did was uninstalling Ovi Contacts and try to do the software update on the map and N-Gage again, and it works! give it a shot, see if it works on yours too =]

good luck.
