How to disable flashing blue light when in sleep mode..

sorry if this is a dim question but i haven't been able to find the answer in the manual or faq..

when the n80 goes into sleep mode the blue light at the top left flashes... is there any way to disable this or is there something that i am inadvertantly doing to get it to come on?? any help welcome as i am finding it really annoying! Great phone other than that though

All you can do it turn off sleep mode, or do as I do place a bit of card over it at night.

"sleep mode - select whether the display is switched off to save battery power 20 minutes after the screen saver is activated. When the display is switched off, a LED blinks to indicate that the device is powered on."

Thats from the help option on the phone.

It would be good to still have sleep mode but without the LED.

certainly would be good... kind of seems to negate the point of sleep mode to have the flashing light

Powering the LED will drain the battery a lot less than powering the screen..........

It's perfect next to my Power Book with its throbbing LED. Now I have two lights to cover before sleeping.

It really is a nuisance, I can't believe there isn't an option to disable the flashing blue light in sleep mode.

Is it possible that somebody will someday make an app that gives the option of disabling it?

If its really a big problem then if you get some black nail polish you can just paint over it,

If you ever want to see the light again then the nail polish with scratch of quite easily without damaging the phone,

I find the light quite usefull because as my phone is always in sleep mode, and the battery tends to go flat quite quick, at least I am notified that the phone isn't working anymore.

and I think somebody mentioned here (I didnt test it so just going on hearsay) if you plug the charger in at night the light goes out (not sure how true that is though)

To be truthful, it's not the be all end all of problems. I find that just turning the phone over is a good enough sollution.

I just think it's a shame that Nokia didn't offer the option to disable it, it seems like such an obvious thing to have.

Haha, yes it seems that the obvious things to you and me seem not to be that obvious to Nokia.

The things that I go discovering here. The N80 has a irritating LED to blink in the dark one... He seems like one SE phone then. This is bad, for more does not have a disconnect option...
