Mail for Exchange 2.7 now available

Mail for Exchange, Nokia's Microsoft Exchange client for S60 powered Nokia phones, has been upgraded to version 2.7. Updates include support for Exchange Server 2007 Autodiscover (enter your email address and server settings are automatically provisioned), updated mapping of data fields in Contacts and a number of bug fixes. As was recently announced the new version can also now be installed on any Nokia S60 3rd Edition phone.

Read on in the full article.

Thumbs down Mail for Exchange

Be very, I repeat *very* careful before you use Mail for Exchange software for your employees....

I removed a recurring appointment from the Nokia mobile, and got the choice "remove all", which I by mistake misinterpreted to be "remove all occurencies of this recurring appointment"....

Well guess what, it removed *REALLY ALL* calendar entries from my outlook exchange, so the time after I connected to the exchange server with my laptop, I could visually see all entries just disappear.... And I had to spend tremendous effort to get the information back!!!

I don't know what kind of quality control Nokia have on their products, but this is ridiculous....

p.s.
Or the other day, silly me, of course I should be aware that the unfocused camera images I got when using the built-in camera, was because I didn't press the 'T' button (T as in autofocus), before taking the picture.

Mail For Exchange and Nokia E71

We cannot use the latest version of Mail For Exchange (current version is 2.9.158 S60 3.1 HS). The problem is that MfE will just keep being unable to connect to the Exchange server. This definitely is a bug.

As far as I know, the only working version for Nokia E71 is Mail For Exchange 2.7.0 S60 3.1 which you cannot get it from Nokia's official site anymore.

But you can get it here:
