Does LTA stand for "Latin America?"

What does "NA" stand for?

I now have v50 on my 5800. Changing the product code was not difficult at all, i just followed the instuctions on the internet (Daily Mobile i think). My phone works just find with US 3G network.

ratza is on a distinguished road
The product code I used is 0591791. Languages available are English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. All you need is the data cable and NSS.

@ rlaskey

Product code has nothing to do with GSM handling. I changed my product code from the same as yours and updated fine. Just use any other NA (North America) code.

Where did Product code 0577454 come from?

What are the chances product code 0577454 came from amazon, as opposed to NokiaUSA? I'm wondering if there was a deal to get the phone at a cheaper price so it can be sold by other retailers and this is a factor in not being updated regularly.

I purchased mine on amazon and received a product code of 0577454. Did anyone else buy one from nokia directly that has the 0577454 code, too? This will at least kill off that theory

Thanks,
Jason

@Jason Methinks this 0577454 kind of product code caters to third party retailers only. Mine was purchased online from a third party retailer that I, incidentally, have long forgotten and it got this product code. My friend's phone got the same product code bought also online. Yours was from Amazon and its also an online retailer. Just my two cents.

To all with product code 0577454, use 0574994 as it has a close match with the first three digits.

I've had enough with waiting and 0577454 already lags behind two firmware generations. I used NSS to change the product code and used NSU, not Ovi Suite, to update the firmware. I was surprised it immediately has v51.2.007, which, to the best of my knowledge, RM-428 handsets is always one firmware behind our RM-356 Euro brethren. Now, my handset is working with the latest firmware and I'm very happy about it. To be fair, kudos to Nokia for a writable product code, but losing the warranty in the end.

To all RM-428 owners, I suggest change your product code, albeit passed the warranty, to better maximise your phone and live a better life.

@unregistered You seem to make sense. While I had the 0577454 product code, my Ovi Maps doesn't have Weather, Events, Lonely Planet, and even the More app. Changing product code to 0574994 and flashing finally gave me those. I believe that somehow 0577454 is prolly a generic NAM product code exclusive for retailers that is why they are at the end of the support chain.

There is no warranty loss unless the warranty problem is related to changing the product code.

I have tested this more than once, I've had no problems with the warranty fix, and exchange when I had the 5800 garbled display (cold start) and another problem.
