6260 bluetooth problem

hey everyone,
I am new to this forum. I just got the 6260 and am trying to send songs to the phone through bluetooth via my mac. the problem is the built in memory is only 6MB so it fails. I want to import it directly on my 32MMC card. How do I do that. It does not give me the option before recieving. Would appreciate anybody's help.

Thanks

amz

If you have a Mac, your only option with the 6260 is to get an USB MMC reader and use it (instead of Bluetooth).

With a Windows PC you could use PC Suite to transfer files using the DKU-2 cable and USB, Bluetooth or infrared directly to the memory card.

i don't have a 6260 (because black 6260 isn't available) but Here's what you can do..

in the messeages settings, just choose your memory card as the memory in use. This way you can receive files up to the memory of the card. I can do that in my 6600 and in a 3650, so there's a big chance of the 6260 of doing it too.

No unfortunately it didnt have the option. I guess buying the cable would be the best bet.

The cable (DKU-2) won't work with a Mac (only Windows 2000/Windows XP drivers exist for it). Buy a card reader instead.

Just use an MMC reader, its much faster than Bluetooth and its fully compatible with Mac. DKU-2 is NOT compatible with Mac. Its you only option.

There is NO option to transfer messages to MMC on the 6260.

USE A CARD READER FOR LARGE FILE TRANSFERS (like MP3 files) !!!

Will the MMC reader sync everything? I havent yet sync with my laptop but does the PC suite allow you to update your calender and then send it to the phone. Can I do this with an MMC reader?

No, with an MMC reader you can't do any actual synchronization. You can only read/write files on the memory card on a PC or a Mac.

Of course, you can use a phone-based utility program to export contacts or calendar entries to a file on the phone (to the memory card). Then you can take that file off the memory card with a memory card reader and then process it on your PC/Mac (import it to your "PIM", Personal Information Manager program). The reverse also works. That's, however quite laborious.

Does that mean you can't sync a 6260 with iSync on the Mac via Bluetooth?

Haven't tried yet!

That's the case currently. I don't know whether Apple is working on an updated iSync that'd work with the newer Series 60/Series 80 phones by Nokia (these devices have switched from a Symbian/Intuwave developed m-Router connectivity solution to using more standard OBEX and SyncML/OMA DS based local connectivity).

There is a previous thread about iSync connectivity, I haven't yet received my 6260 so I am unable to test this but there is a program for the Mac called OnSync that might support the 6260, I put the link in the other thread but here it is again.

OnSync 1.8 (http://homepage.mac.com/antonioferraioli/)

I thought that there was full PIM syncing available via the SyncML standard?

apple will have to update iSync for it to work with the 6260, there was a similar issue when the 6600 came out and someone released an unoffical update which basically added the phone to isync. Apple should update it soon seeing as though the number of s60 smartphones out in the last month has been quite large

Thanks for letting me know... Not long now before mine will arrive and then I am going to try to figure it out if I can!

I also found this page while trawling through the net, its for the nokia 6600... But I am intrigued to see if it will work for the 6260.

I have also been looking at AT commands and SyncML to see if I can bodge something to work, but the AT commands seems to be a dead end and with SyncML there is so much to learn before one can even consider writing something.

Let me know if you have any joy
