can not write new product code

Hi guys first post so be gentlewhat has happened is i have download the nss program,ran that and all went well.I put in what i thought was the right product code and it updated my n95 8gb no probs.When i tried to reinstall my softere the nokia pc prog would not let me saying there was no update for my phone.when i tried to read my mobile with nss all i get now is a error message.My phone seems ok same as before.What have i done wrong and can i still update the softwere to debrand me phone? thanks for your help
