N85 GPS battery life?

I am a user of sports tracker and interested in knowing if anyone has found out how long the gps and sports tracker would last on a full charge?

Is the signal good on it? i.e can I chuck it in a top pocket of a bag and leave it there or do you need a good line of sight?

I have an N95 at the moment and that used to be pretty shocking as you had to have the slider open but as the firmware got upgraded the gps signal was better and eventually you could put the slider down and leave in bag. Still rubbish battery though.

Any help appreciated before I push the button on my new phone

You cant expect any phone to have long battery life on GPS, which is one of the things that burns the battery the most.

If I recall corectly either Mobile-review or GSMArsena reviewed the battery life of N85 on various usages and GSM was about 4 hours I think. Do a search on N85 review on both sites and you will find the data.

What will make a big difference is if the screen is on or not, and if its doing calculations, and giving voice commands.

So you will get much longer out of using something like sports tracker in your pocket, over using something like Garmin to get to somewhere.

Nokia Sports Tracker is most likely used when the user is not constantly near a power socket (i.e. running, walking, cycling, skiing) so thats not usually the best answer.
