backup broken images

After doing a hard reset (vulcan) and then backing up the contents via pc suite everything was fine except images, lots and lots of broken images.

I have deleted everything i could with y browser and am now left with broken thumbnails.

I will do another hard reset but wanted to know, when i back up again, if there is a way NOT to reload the image folder as i'd rather do it that part manually.

thanks
