Beer iGO Stowaway BT Keyboards

If like me you have a Stowaway BT keyboard .. you will probably need to re-download/install the drivers (it doesn't seem that the N97 has them built in gee I wonder why!?)

http://corporate.igo.com/support/Dow...20OS9%20En.zip

After installation the Stwy should appear in Applications .. open it and enable BT .. then put the keyboard in discovery mode .. Ctrl and both Fn buttons .. stick in a pass-code on the phone .. type the same code on the keyboard and blue Fn + enter .. you should see it happily spring to life!

I'm happy to report that you can enjoy the full typing speed that this Keyboard will give you on the N97 .. I'm assuming it will work for 5800 & Omnia i8910 too.

For you Samsung i8910 folk .. I really think this should work for you too!

I too can confirm that the above procedure does work to enable using an iGo Stowaway Bluetooth keyboard with a Samsung i8910 Omnia HD, because I am typing this post after using these instructions!

When installing the Think Outside Series 60 software you'll see a prompt warning that this software is not compatible with this device but it does stil install OK with some quirks to the UI. The few shotcut keys I have tried all work, eg the "IE" key loads this device's web browser.

This is definitely the fasted data entry input method for this - or any - Symbian handset. It may not automatically reconnect when either keyboard or i8910 sleep/power-off but that is something I can live with for the benefit of extended fast typing sessions, such a programming on my phone or emailing whilst travelling.?

PM me if you've any questions. Now, I too want to know how to use a Bluetooth Mouse with a Symbian device (without needing to write my own app)?

Unfortunately it doesn't work with Vampent's Nintendo emulators. Thosedo work with the Nokia driver tho. You'll have to hack your phone with HelloOx in order to allow it to install tho. Plus you give up the emulated phone hardware keys.
