n95 internet

hi im ok with my set up and gps connection and things.

i only got the phone yesterday on o2 and i bought a 4mb upgrade on browsing and downloading. the question is what is this?

i thought it gave me free internet as long as i dont go over that limit. according to the man at the store but obviously not as ive been charge for something extra acording to my online bill at o2's website.

so do i have to pay to connect to the internet and browse google and stuff or is that free? if not is there anyway of getting it free through my wireless connection at home? insted of o2 wap. cuz i saw that i can connect up to my wireless connection for some reason.

if the internet is free then wot am i paying for the gps locating or something cuz i havent downloaded the voices for that so i thought that was free still as well.

i did download the antivirus software from downloads tho the trial version i think but that said it was free.

thanks people and sorry for the long message.

You have most likely upgraded to the 4MB data bundle. This allows upload/download of up to 4MB per month without incurring any additional costs. 4MB is not a lot... You can easily reach this by visiting several web pages. A web page can contain 1MB+ especially those pages with lots of images and flash. This is not a free service... Only a couple of UK networks gives you generous data packages. For example T-Mobile Web & Walk gives you 1GB (what they call unlimited) data for £7.50p/m. Three do a similar deal for a fiver.

When you're at home you can use the wifi connection instead. This has nothing to do with the network operators so you're not charged for it. It is like a laptop equipped with wifi which allows you to connect to a wireless router. On your phone's home screen you will see "WLAN scanning off" if you click on this it will search for wireless networks within it's range. Click on your wifi router and follow onscreen instructions/prompts.
