Where is the new firmware??

Hello, i am wondering when the new firmware will be out, cause all ive being hearing is 'soon, soon' or 'its on its way'. Well i think i speak for everyone when i say 'HURRY UP'. the reason for this is i want to be able to record decent videos that are not s-k-i-p-p-i-n-g-, also to be able to recieve calls while listening to music. so when??????????

I feel more as Sendo adandoned the X and moved on to the newer phones, cause i have heard soon from them and while reading the forums (about firmware).

gentlemen,
please be patient. the programmers are hard at work to make sure that the release is bug free - for everyone... meaning that there is not just one generic version, rather several (one for each operator) that they must code and test - send to the operator to test - work the issues from those results - test some more and finally release it to you.

stu is in contact with the mfg - so if he says soon, please stand by... for it will be just that - soon i do not have a positive definition on what the word means (to you)... only you can answer that.

the news of it will be posted here and on other sites for sure when it is released.

Mordred,

Soon to means like in about a month. I think is has been about a month since i heard of the new firmware. I am not wining but am just abit impatient as i and maybe many others would like their X to be working to the best of performance. .

OK, so what do you get if you buy an Unlocked phone?

Assuming there is a generic version in this case, is it a good idea to update to the relevant operator-specific version thereafter?

Cheers,

Howard

Even though its unlocked you should only install the s/w relevant to the original operators spec. This is determined by the Sales Pack Number (SPN) which is on the label behind the battery. You then download the software listed against that SPN when it becomes available.
