Dev Week: New S60 SDK and future Symbian devices

It seems that Nokia will shortly be releasing the first device specific S60 SDK and there has been a lot of talk about Symbian on MIDs, how will this affect developers?

Read on in the full article.

Symbian OS on more PC like devices would be key in meeting Symbianís goal of becoming the 'most widely used software platform on the planet'.
I'm not sure about this? Why do we need another OS for PC like devices? Linux would seem the natural fit for me and already has a wealth of software available. Many distributions such as Ubuntu are now very easy to install and use. I'm just not sure what advantages Symbian would have over other OS's on this category of device?

I think we need Symbian to be the next Operating system on PC like devices. I used to work on Windows from the days of Windows 1995 till Windows 7 & am still suffering from Microsoft crisis like Vista itself & the bugs on Seven. Linux didnt suites me while Mac is not popular in my country & i hardly can find any software or service from Apple.

By the way i think Symbian will have the Stability & safety advantages over Windows & Linux. And the global availabilty & 'free from the limitations of Apple' over Mac.

In a way, the S60 SDK v0.9 was the first device-specific S60 SDK, as there was only one device using that S60 version; the Nokia 7650.

For the next device, the 3650, it was already S60 v1.2 (also known as S60 1st Edition, nowadays) and multiple models (from Nokia and other manufacturers).

Alternative energy sources are, I think,
and there is that direction which will deduce the world from crisis.
The epoch of oil and gas monopolies will end.
