Go to Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Destinations > Internet

You should see your wifi access point there. I would guess that you would like this to be your number 1 access point. If you do then select Options > Organise > Change priority and move it to the number 1 position. Ensure that "Internet" is set as your default connection.

That way, when you are in range it will use your wifi in preference to data so long as you click on it and select Edit and set Use access point to "Automatic".

The BBC iPlayer is a widget, which run on the Web Runtime. So next, try changing your Web connection settings ( Menu -> Web -> Options -> Settings -> General ) so it uses "Internet" as it's access point.
