O2 N95 8GB Unlocked?

Now that this is out on O2, I can finally upgrade

I need to make sure it's unlocked though, as i need to use another sim when in Europe.

Can anyone confirm this?

99% certain it will be locked to O2. However, you should be able to phone them up and they can issue you with an unlock code. They will charge you for the priviledge though.

O2 contract phones are ALWAYS unlocked, but have some slight customization of firmware.... The Pay and Talk phones are locked to O2.

TBH, I was surprised when I found O2 leave them unlocked..... had a contract for years and they've always left them that way!!! Wish everyone did!

You can try inserting any other network's active SIM card inside your Nokia N95 8GB. If the SIM card can be accessed through it, Then your mobile is unlocked. If the SIM card cannot be accessed through it, Then your mobile is network locked and you need to unlock it.

I dont think you have to face any problem, but once you reach Europe , you need to unlock it once again which is chargeable.
