see this .. http://nokia5800.net/2009/02/26/chan...ode-using-jaf/ it refers to 5800 but its same for n97, i use 0570817 euro 1 code, if u change prod code u will have 2 update via nsu not ota as ota wnt work after code change but will work next time a fw is out.

If you change product code you will need to update via NSU, FOTA won't work

(biggzy got there before me, must remember to refresh page before posting)

This is very irritating. It is no wonder people buy Apple products!

Going away on businesss for a month later today and I was hoping to get the firmware updated before I head off.

Can anyone who has done an OTA update confirm if the user data preservation works OK? Looks like that will be my only option as I don't fancy voiding my warranty on the N97 (that ribbon cable could get loose!).

There's info here: -
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum...p/t-82259.html

And a fab annotated guide for extra easiness here: -
http://www.nottinghamjazz.co.uk/blog/?p=66

Obviously it's all at your own risk and might invalidate your warranty... But just worked ok for me... Good luck!
