Smile New Sandisk 4GB Memory Card

Hi all,

Got a question about the new 4gb card thats out now, in particular the one on MobyMemorys website.

It says the speed and performance rating is
Speed performance rating: Class 2 (based on SD 2.00 Specification)

Exactly what speed does it do?

Is it the same as the UltraII at 10mb/s Read 9mb/s write or more/less.

Gonna wait if it is coz with this size the faster the better.

While its great to say the card can read and write fast but can the phone actually access it at the speeds it talks about, no one has mentioned that.

My 4gb card just arrived from MobyMemory, works well. Not sure what difference a faster card would make as this seems the same speed as accessing the 512.

"SanDisk's Micro SDHC is rated a Class 2 device - not that you'll see this mentioned on the card itself, as SanDisk isn't keen in this rating - which means its capable of a minimum guaranteed data transfer rate of 2MBps. "

It makes a HUGE difference - especially when you are recording video on the phone. I have a cheap 2GB card and whenever I do video on it, it will stutter once every minute or so and I lose about a second's worth of frames. This does not happen when I put my Nokia 1GB one back in.

The lag is very noticable so I do not recommend anyone to buy cheap slow cards if they are to record video on it..

I just received my card from mobymemory today. Quick question though, I can't get my computer to recognize the card.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Class 2 speed only guarantees 2.5Mb/sec read and write. UltraII is 4 times faster. Currently most of the 4Gb cards are only Class 2, and that's disappointing (for me).

Will a Class two card mean that when you take video it will be a bit Juddery?

Occasionally my 2 gig card does that so I'd like a faster card, but not sure what speed it is.... unless class two is the slowest in which case the 4 gig will be the same ans the one I have.
