maximum video size?

hi all, just tried to play a 2 gig mp4 video on tv using big screen and refuses to play. won't play on phone either. is there a maximum size the n8 will play? hdmi seems a bit pointless if it won't play hd size files. thx

I suspect that this is a codec problem as I play films around the 4gb mark regularly using HDMI and on phone screen.

Sometimes the video player crashes if I am jumping forwards and backwards trying to find my last played position (why doesn't it resume?!), and that only happens on large files.

Use a PC or Mac to convert your video to a 2kbps H264 .mkv and I'm sure it will work.

Good luck!
