Just ordered a 1900mAh battery from ebay http://cgi.ebay.de/NOKIA-Li-POLYMER-AKKU-N80-N90-5500-1900mAh-NEU_W0QQitemZ9141519146QQcategoryZ30416QQcmdZViewItem
Description looks good but have not yet received it.
let us know how the backup(days) is after you install it. Also let us know of the full charging time required.
~Thanks
Wow if that battery fits, and if it really does have 1900mah capacity i will have to get myself one of those.
I might be able to use it for a decent amount of time....
Keep us informed. 😃

Yep, I'd be interested in one of those. How much did it rush you? 😊

did u do firmware update guyz? with my old firmware my battery lasts for 1 day (at most!), now i have 2 dayz normally - bt always on - about 20-40 min talking daily, wifi about 20 mins daily, about 5 photos daily. it really suits my needs now!
Yeah firmware upgrade helped alot, but when i compare to my previous phone SE t68 its a tremendous change wrt to battery life.
And thats why i am hopeing to get ~3days of general useage (without much wifi)

There's also a higher than standard capacity battery here :
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/For-Nokia-BL-5B-High-Capacity-Battery-1100-mAh_W0QQitemZ9149673248QQcategoryZ79374QQssPageNameZWD4VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
it's 1100mah, I used to use one for my N90 unfortunately I sold it along with the N90, so now I am trying to decide whether to go for the 1100 or 1900mah battery for my new N80.
Problem is that page on ebay is all in german and I cant make head nor tale of whats what. Anyone actually bought one of these batteries, recieved it and can give any feedback on it or how long the phone lasts with it?
Dont want to shell out for it if its likely to explode upon being charged 😮 as there are some really dodgy batteries out there!
Advice anyone?
funny how the only people who are selling higher capacity batteries are based overseas..I did a google search and could find nothing in the UK selling the same
Agree with you on that, all UK ebayers seem to sell lower capacity, equal to or official batteries...
Can vouch for the LEO BL5-B ive posted above though, 1100mah and while I used it in my n90 it never got hot and it did indeed provide a healthy battery life increase 😊
Am very dubious of the 1900mah one, although its a nice thought I wouldnt mind some feedback first before trying, then again - to get that, someones gotta be a guinea pig 😞 just dont think ive got the guts!

you can translate the page with google translate tool http://www.google.co.uk/language_tools?hl=en , just type the url in, its not a perfect translation but you may be able to make out what you need to know a little better
Any text that doesnt translate you can copy and paste it into the translate tool, just make sure you choose german to english
and the seller seems to have a very good rating nd has been on ebay for 7 years so I guess he sells good gear.
and I think these are the suppliers http://www.akku.net/
I also tried to find anything at all about this battery and I cant find anything, no manufactures, just resellers or people on ebay and only in Germany. I would be interested to see whats under the white label if its removed, I am not saying its dodgy, but something doesn't feel right to me about it, but then again I am probably wrong, will have to see what the guys who bought it have to say.
Absolutely righ cash!....the only way to find out is if the battery stays up to its expectation of 1900mAH. So guys who have got this battery, kindly let us know of its performance( Standard usage, charging time, heat dessipation etc)
~thanks
why wouldn't nokia use a battery with this power in the 1st place? .....
Received shipping confirmation for the 1900mAh battery from Germany yesterday. Should arrive soon here in Australia. Will let you know how it goes.
I am a bit sceptical about the rating as well but the web page and everything I could find looks good (I do speak German!).
I ordered one yesterday and it was dispatched today. Only £10 so worth a go imho.
One thing that was odd was that it in the ebay listing it did say that it was compatable with the N80 but on the confirmation email it did not list the N80. Saying that it only listed a couple of compatable phones.
We shall soon see
I think I read somewhere that the battery need 3 or 4 full charge/discharge cycles for full capacity so I am guessing we wont get a full report on the battery for about a week to 10 days,
But would be good to know how you think the battery handles untill this point

LOL me neither, but yes you can, I did.
I hope you prove me wrong but a quick Google of MaxCell 1900mAh batteries has brought up a whole heap of complaints that they don't have any significant increase in life and worse, the cells seem to be failing completely after only several months of use.
Beware, if it seems too good, it probably is.
anyone recieved their replacement battery yet?
My 1100mah one should be well on the way by now , and at least I know the LEO batteries are reliable, so if anyone finds these maxcells not to be as good as we thought, 1100mah isnt too shabby, providing about 1/4 extra life than we currently have
I'd recommending purchasing a second battery with a desktop charger. Once again I'd check that you get the original Nokia battery (not a fake one). There are some distinctive markings on the battery and you can check the serial number with an online Nokia page.
Confirm that the 20-digit code is valid by following the instructions at www.nokia.com/batterycheck
I've bought this of eBay and awaiting delivery - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9741852955&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1
I'd shop around too cos I think you can get a dual charger, so the desktop charger would charge the phone and the extra battery.

You see. I was thinking about that, but did you see that battery cover on the back of the phone.
It looks and feels very fragile. and feels little loose already.
I just don't think that daily opening/closing would do it any more good.
VJ_UK wrote:I'd recommending purchasing a second battery
Haha, this reminds me of the good old days over a decade ago when it was compulsary to carry at least 2 batteries around with you. 😊
VJ_UK wrote:I'd recommending purchasing a second battery with a desktop charger.
I don't get this. Why buy a second battery/desktop charger option when all you need do is plug your phone into the charger when at your desk? If you're going to be tied to a mains plug, why bother with a second battery and charger? I have a charger at home and one at work. If the battery goes down at work, I just plug it in - no need to swap batteries and all the hassle that entails.
Of course the best thing would be a higher capacity battery in the first place. 🙄

I cant understand why they didnt make the phone able to charge through the USB cable, when I am at home or in the office my phone is nearly always connected to my PC.
Bit of a design error there Nokia.
Having a second battery is quite handy for myself for when I'm not at home or the office...
