Orange SPV is better than Nokia 7650

... because SPV can play MP3 in stereo while 7650 cannot!

Guess you're right, that one function makes the SPV way better than 7650...........................

NOT!

SPV has SDIO card slot. You can put there WiFi and memory cards in SD and SDIO format. Can 7650 dig it?

We don't care. We are Symbian fanatics, not SPV fanatics (or M$ fanatics for that matter).

My opinion is that the 7650 is the better of the two...As there is more software and even freeware (Not a word you'll hear if MS have anything to do with it) Which in turn makes the phone more usefull.

Fair enough the SVP might be catching up a little with the UI and speed, but after how long?...the 7650 is becoming old in terms of technology. Wanna compare P800 and give me some arguements for that?

why not? SPV and all MS Smarpthone phones have SDIO card slot - so you can use SD cards (and not some proprietary memory sticks or some outdated MMC cards) and if it is not enough: you can use also I/O cards in SDIO format like WiFi/WirelessLAN, GPS and others!

software will catch up very quickly, don't you worry.

Your arguement is memory and Wi-Fi, GPS??

My argument is lack of software, esp freeware, and also for the moment at least an unstable OS, P800 has Sony memory stick, so what memory is memory...This is to be expected of any Sony Product. This is just marketing and to my extent at least doesn't affect the useability on it one bit.

Wi-Fi would be nice, but again this is a poor argument as this appeals to what percentage of potential buyers?...and at what cost? In other words, is this something that potential buyers of the P800 and SVP (Or 7650 for that matter) would look for?...I doubt it. Something more suited to the PPC's of this world (At bare min).

short, very short.

I don't want to down you, but MS Smarpthone OS has "incremental update technology" that makes it possible to make partial software updates over the air - thing that no symbian phone has.

it will be like in regular PCs: once and a while you will install new version of software and you will get new features, error corrections. In Symbian phones: in most cases you have one softare for ever and you cannot make updates yourself - you have to go to special service point etc etc what almost nobody will do.

sorry, but these are just facts.

Oh and GPS, I can get this for my Palm, give me one reason why this couldn't be made for P800?

wait a while, there are several millions of PC windows developers who can reuse their skills to write software for MS Smartphone.

first big major update is coming tomorrow and certification problems are solved because it is possible to software-unlock SPV : http://www.coolsmartphone.com/app-cert.htm

I agree that not everybody will need Wi-Fi/WLAN but SD card format also offers MUCH BIGGER CARDS (up to 1GB today) than MMC and memory stick and also offers bigger transfer speed.

so also hardware-wise SPV is better....

because Memory Stick Duo format is very rare and no GPS vendor has any plans to release such thing for P800.

But GPS in SDIO format is already on the market. Not to mention other things in SDIO format.

yes, possibility to update software (firmware!!!) in your cell phone over the air AND without the need to move your ass out of your home IS a good thing.

Who said anything about Memory Card expansion, the Palm in question is a Palm IIIe, hence no memory expansion.

Anywho, you already know my opinions on the matter, so i'll end this one here and say goodnight
