808 PV screensaver issues
Hey there,
I seem to be having a screensaver issue with my new 808. I am using the standard Big Clock screensaver and it works, however the lighting is extremely dim, you can barely see the clock in the dark. Same goes for the Nokia Sleeping Screen which I installed via Nokia Store. Both were much brighter on my previous S^3 devices (N8, E7). Is my 808 faulty or is this a common bug? Your reply will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Leo

on my 808 PV .. I installed Sleeping Screen immediately I got the device .. it is just as bright on the 808 as it is on my now redundant N8 ..
I haven't found a setting other than for over-all screen brightness ..
try adjusting that ...

I can confirm that even my 808 Sleeping Screen works properly. Have you tried to re-install it so far?

has the same issue .. is it you??
what I would do is hard-reset ... re-install the firmware, so that you know you have a completely reset phone ... put sleeping screen on and if its not fixed then you have a hardware problem.
what firmware do you have and version of sleeping screen ..

Firmware: 112.020.0310 (2012-05-23)
NSS: latest version from Nokia Store
Already tried various tricks (change product code, install FW for different countries etc.)... Nothing works. I guess I just have a faulty phone and I should visit Nokia Care Romania.

I just got a new 808 white and same problem. The clock and NSS is barely visible in screensaver mode.
My operator told me to send it back on DOA and I did so yesterday. We'll see what they say.
I wonder how common this problem is? Are entire batches affected or just a couple units per batch due to manufacturing errors?

Try to download new screensaver and see if the problem still goes. try in zedge.com . May be the screensaver doesn't fits to your phone.

Hi, I have the same problem with my my new 808. I woudn't mind, but the word NEW gives me shivers. I am also using the standard Big Clock screensaver and it works, but the overall view is blurry and barely visible.

The battery life depends on repeatedly charging and discharging frequency, so should try to avoid more charge when the battery power, this will shorten the service life of the battery. Mobile phone off time more than 7 days, should first will phone the battery to completely discharge, enough electricity before use
