Yesterday @ Nokia Store a tech guy broke the SIM slot by introducing a micro SIM adapter into it. They send my unlocked C7 to repair, for free. They assure me that it won't take long even if they told me that C7 is no longer produced. In the meantime I do not have any replacement except an old E51.
I am worried they cannot repair it. Is the SIM slot easy to substitute?
In the meantime E51 allows me to place calls and text but...
What happened thought me that it's always better to have a similar spare around just in case. I am a standard size SIM owner. To change it I need a long request process to my Employer IT Dept. Technically it's not mine so I'd be liable to cut it to micro SIM.
So I am left with three options:
Wait for the repair.
Get a discounted E7 or 701
Wait for 808 and ask for Micro SIM to my employer
Hi, I am C7 owner, tech guy should have not used micro sim adapter, they will cause damage
When inserting/removing, I bought my C7 new sim free online from Amazon uk, they are still available and cheap, or perhaps a N 8 running Nokia Belle a great camara and no problems,
Also available and cheap, the 808 pureview looks good, not coming to uk, and online price a rip off, i am Nokia user and they beat my Android/ windows phones for quality and call reception,
C7/N8/N900 & N9 which is the best of my collection, hope you find a phone that meets your requirements,
Thanks for reply. In the meantime my c7 came back repaired. It works fine now and I will never let anyone touch it except me! Old S3 generation are getting hard to get both in store and on line. I am over forty so I would benefit from a 4 inches display. Nokia still sells X7 while E7 has been retired. Seems like I am left with 808 to get a bigger display but I fear that having that bulgy camera it might be fragile for business trips. 701 feels faster albeit on a smaller screen. Some shops has E7 still on display at a cheap price. If only Nokia made a 4 inch c7 or a speedier E7 that would be mine. I fear 808 is the last Symbian and I am sad.
