How to stop N97 blanking when using Sat Nav?

How do you stop the screen blanking when using sat nav?

Very annoying.

I was looking for an alternative route home today due to roadworks, and the screen blanks after a while due to the power saving.

I am happy with the screen blanking at other times, just not when in the sat nav facility.

In Settings->Naviagion there's a Backlight option:

• Always on
• Optimised
• System Default

Mine is set to Optimised and the backlight stays on during navigation.

Just checked and it was already on optimised.

I think it may have blanked because I was not actually following a set route.
I was looking at the screen to determine what roads to take myself, rather than have the sat nav tell me which way to go.

I have now changed it to 'always on' when in the sat nav.
