Problems adding pictures to mms

OK, so here's the problem....
Create a new message, try to add a picture using the "+ paperclip" and the phone only allows me to add from some background pictures stored on the internal memory, It won't allow me to pick from the gallery on my memory card.

I'm certain this used to work OK, any ideas.....?
