E71 Headphone Jack Problem

Hi, hope someone can help, my E71 unfortunately has a serious problem with the headphone jack. I use a 2.5 to 3.5mm adaptor to connect standard headphones to my E71, unfortunately a section of the 2.5mm end of the adaptor has broken off and is well and truly stuck inside the E71's headphone socket

I have tried to prod it out with a needle, but stopped not wanting to damage the socket.

I don't want to take the phone to a service centre? i'm considering opening up the phone and see if i can access the otherside of the jack and maybe remove the section, otherwise i may need to purchase a set of bluetooth headphones.

Any advice most welcomed.
