Smile Tip: Make your 5800 slick like an iPhone

I've been lurking and benefiting from the helpful people on this board for a while now, since getting my 5800. I thought I would "give something back" by letting you know about something I stumbled over on the 5800.

The phone is great, but I've always thought it seemed to lack some of the glitz of the iPhone UI. But while messing about after upgrading to v20, I found that if you go to:

Settings -> Personal -> Themes -> General

There is one theme listed on my phone "Sound Waves". Select it and press:

Options -> Theme effects -> On

Now the phone uses all sorts of nice animated transitions between screens, animated menu pop-ups and so on. Very nice, and I have no idea why Nokia didn't enable it by default.

Of course, it might just be that my phone had it disabled and everyone else gets this already...

Cheers,

Simon

These are just the standard menu transitions that have been present since S60 3rd Edition FP2.

There is an application called Myphone which will turn Nokia 5800 into Apple IPhone.... you can check this application with Nokia 5800 Applications.
