I’ve recently installed BirdStep’s SmartConnect onto my silver and black, original firmware, E71-1 on the UK T-Mobile network. Seemingly since then I’m seeing the occasional double-headed arrow at the top left of the screen within the signal meter when the device has connected using the GPRS or UTMS modem. I’m supposing that this means something like a shared connection but there’s no mention of it in my handbook and although I don’t remember seeing this notification before installing SmartConnect, I also don’t remember what I had for supper on Sunday evening!
