Dog slow N96
I have just about had enough of my N96. Its slow to respond to applications, hangs and generally winds me up by the poor performance and diabolical battery life. Im just about to revert to my N95 8GB as its a much better phone in my opinion.
Just to check can anyone suggest anything other than chucking it on ebay.
I dont see why Nokia cant make a newer model phone work better than its predecessor!

Have you got the latest firmware on there? My N96 improved a massive amount when I went to v.11, can't wait til Vodafone release v.12 update.
Hope it helps

I gave up on the phone a week after I upgraded to v12. Slow as ever and buggy as heck. I've had S60 phones since forever and the N96 is the proverbial straw. Until Nokia start using the new Symbian OS in its phones, the iPhone will be my main smartphone. It's like Nokia aren't even trying anymore with S60.

I've never had any major problems with my N96.
It will easily stay on for 3/4 days on normal use (few phone calls each day, few texts each day, bit of op mini browsing).
I've no problems with buggy applications, and i've got loads of things installed.
By the way, if you think the N85 has no problems, try looking here, or here, or here.

if i use email and phone/text and browser occassionally my battery needs charging after 4 hours!!!! Every app is slow compared to N95 and it often hangs. The phone just isnt stable. This has put me well off of nokias now.

well i sent n96 back to 3 under warranty - cheeky feckers have sent me a refurbed replacement. Shouldnt they send me a new one? Is there a worldwide shortage of phones or something?? I rang them unhappy with this and they said its normal practice!!! I wouldnt expect a 2nd hand tv if mine broke under warranty!!
Apart from the fact it has scratches on the front - its being replace already because of that!

Personally, i find it's often better to go direct to the manufacturer for warranty repairs rather than the networks themselves.
