Thinking of buying an E71

My T-mobile contract ends at the start of April and I'm thinking of moving to the 3 network and getting an E71 (currently have an N95).

I don't know if this is a stupid question but I've debranded my N95 and updated the firmware- will I be able to do this with a 3 branded phone? I'm not really bothered about all of the 3 branding but I just don't want to get left behind in terms of the firmware versions!

I have a Vodafone branded one, which has a few irritations (Bookmarks you cant delete etc) but is actually so stable and bug-free that I've not bothered looking into de-branding and using a generic ROM.

There's nothing in the newer ROMs that I think "oh, I want that!"

I picked up a Three branded E71 just today for a good price, and I've just debranded it. All seems fine. Just need to get it unlocked now.
