BeatEd is a simple drum machine application for Symbian S60 3rd edition mobile phones. It was originally developed in couple of nights to get a drum machine and metronome application for personal guitar playing purposes. After getting a lot of new ideas and positive feedback, I decided to improve it a bit and make a decent public release of it. So here it is, have fun!
In edit mode you get the full grid with no horizontal scrolling - very intuitive and quick - perfect for when inspiration strikes and your phone is just in your pocket or on your knee as you have your guitar to hand - well done!
Now all we need is export to .MID file to pipe into ones favourite desktop audio software ;-)
There are couple of new BeatEd sample kits available for download. Both kits are provided by BeatEd users. If you have your own ideas for a good drum kit, please check the "Own sample kits help" info on BeatEd homepage. I would be very pleased to publish good sample kits by all you BeatEd fans on the download page.
New features include:
-Sharing drum loops over MMS and Bluetooth messages.
-Exporting patterns to audio files.
-Sharing exported audio over MMS or BT.
-Improved audio quality.
-and other minor improvements..
The new kits include:
* Clapper Kit: 16 hand claps to build rhythmic clapping with.
* Glitch Kit: Edgy, sharp, shorty, unusual but usable modern sounds.
* Simmons Kit: Classic and lesser known sounds from the famous Simmons electronic drum kit.
* C64 Newskool Kit: Fat Commodore 64 8580 SID sounds from the master of SID drums, Linus/Triad+Viruz.
All kits are arranged by AMJ/(B), except samples for the C64 kit by Linus/Triad.
