Hi,

Found this in a newsgroup

>Today I was advised to wait with buying the 9210 because a successor with
>Triband functionality is about to hit the market. The source BelCompany.
>I went to the Nokia official store in Amsterdam and they confirmed the
>news, but were not able to provide more details on improvements and timing
>of the new release.

Anyone heard of this? Seems a bit soon for Nokia to release a new product.

Does sound abit fishy?
From what i know the 9290 has not even been released in the usa yet (could be wrong on this!).
And there is no mention of a new model on the nokia site. But guess they would not wanna cripple sales of the 9200 anyway!
Mmm... Must look into this!
But first bed!

Even is this is true; your old 9210 will still work and do the job it was designed to do - and if an upgrade *IS* on the way <prob not just yet?>, then that's good news too 'cos it will mean Nokia is updating and maximising the competitiveness of the Communicator! That's got to be a good thing, huh?

I only want it so I can show off with Nokia's flagship phone An upgrade is good news that Nokia is yet another step ahead of the M$ $martphone crew.

Would the 9290 be triband?

And I am not worried about my Comm (it is still functioning), although the showing off becomes less. But what I am worried about is the lack of support from Nokia for previous models. The 9000i is also still functioning (yet heavy) but new firmware has stopped years ago and there are still some nasty bugs to tackle.

If there is a new communicator comin out, then you can be sure that i'ii have it before anyone else, let me know more details about it, please!

Actually I'm going down my local Carphone Warehouse and seeing if they have any further information about it.

Has anyone any idea when this is going to come out. The reason i ask is that I will soon be changing service provider and therefore I can buy a phone at a discounted rate. I dont want to use this "credit" up on buy a spare 9210 only to find out a week later the new model has been lanched.

I just went down to Craphone Warehouse, and they said to me that there is no replacement for a 9210 for at least a year, they even rang up Nokia in front of me to confirm this!

So all this talk about a new communicator is comin out is Crap!
