n73 dead screen

Hi,

A friends N73 has a dead screen, and no back up of numbers :(

So I have installed the software on a machine, connected the cable, and turned the phone on. But the software cannot find it.

As I dont know what the n73 does when it turns on are there any buttons I need to be pressing please?

If I remember correctly, I have to push down on the joystick then depress it in order to select Nokia sync program.

If this doesn't work for you, I'll double check these directions later this week.

If you have the default configuration on your phone, as soon as you plug in the cable, the Nokia phone displays a menu with 3 choices (I guess), one of them being PC Suite.

I changed mine to use the PC Suite selection as the default one everytime I plug the cable in.

But if you haven't made that change, the phone will be waiting for a selection before you can do anything between the phone and the PC.
