As the title says, the demo is already 2.5y old. It was originally produced for E3 2005, for promotion of Nokia's upcoming gaming technology. We showed it to the closest business partners behind closed doors, the dev. board being covered back then in some sort of an envelope, only showing the display. I can still recall everybody having their guesses on what chip it carries. I think it was DaveB from Beyond3D who was particularly determined to establish which graphics core was running it . I'd recall his guess was even correct, but we naturally couldn't admit it back then.
We did show a video of it back then to the general public, but only few knew that it actually was also running on hw already back then. Since then we've been sitting on it, producing newer and even more impressive 3D demos, like the accelerated One (for which I cannot post a link, because of some weird policies at this site ) As that first 3D hw wasn't a preview of any upcoming game, its utilization ended eventually. I think it hasn't been shown since GDC06, possibly not even there anymore.
Still, it's a good demo, even though I'm the wrong person to review it. I was after all the producer of that demo, still working for Futuremark back then. When the Forum Nokia guys then approached me (working for Nokia) about making that demo a part of Forum's 3D HW offering, I thought it was a great idea. As I can read from this thread, that demo is still appreciated, despite its age. If you're really into 3D demos, you may notice that the town surrounding the tower with the dude fighting off mechanic bugs is not too dissimilar from the town at the end of the canyon flight in 3DMark05
Cheers from Nokia HQ

Thanks for that PatricOj,
Great news that there are "newer and even more impressive 3D demos, like the accelerated One" about! Would love to see them!
Cheers,

Maybe one of the administrators can enable PatricOj's link-posting privileges, or someone else can if it's PMed (it doesn't seem to be 'secret' as such)?

I've just enabled link posting for PatricOj's account.
Basically if you have less than 10 posts it wont let you post a link because of the problems we have had with spammers. I will think about lifting this restruction as I know it is annoying a lot of genuine posters.

If that's "old" then I can't wait to check the new stuff.
BTW, you can pause the scene by pressing '9' and then enter the "free camera" mode (using '8' and then '5') and look arround. Use:
'1'/'3' to zoom in/out;
'2'/'8' for up/down;
'4'/'6' for right/left;
Too bad we only have ~1 minute utill it ends and exit.

Thanks!
Here is the video of the hw accelerated One demo:
http://pandora.luxus.fi/e3blog/e3_06.../one_next.aspx
Click the 'Trailer' tab to see the goodies. Pretty good for May '06
I actually saw some effort and YouTubed an even older 3D hw game demo:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noSilE4eAX0
The compression is a bit worse there, but it's really sweet in real time on device.
Enjoy,
patric

Very interesting YouTube demo Patric, but the One demo link seems to be broken? (Did click the trailer tab - but it hung)
Cheers,
