Newbie caller ID problem

Dear Friends,

I am a newbie here so I would appreciate your help. I have bought n95. I transferred my numbers from my old phone to the sim card and now using the sim in the new nokia n95 with all my contacts.

Problem is that when I get a text or call from someone in the contacts the caller ID doesnt show.

Please, advice a simplest way to resolve this problem.

I had the same problem.

I had to delete all messages in my inbox and get a 'sim update' from customer services.

alrite but getting a sim update will not wipe off the contacts from the sim or will it?

It shouldn't but you can transfer all contacts to the phone first just in case.

thanks mate but I looked all over to see how i could do that can you please advise where this option in where i can save all the contacts onto the phone.

Go to your sim directory were your contacts are: Options - Mark/Unmark - Mark All - Copy to Contacts.

I think that should do it.

this has worked so I get the sim update from orange the caller ID problem should work.

Yes, call 150 from your N95 and when you eventually speak to someone ask for a sim update.

top I will do it this afternoon to see how it goes. the other thing I was going to ask you was that I am hoping to add new firware to the phone. I understand it will erase the default orange settings.

This will mean that I would have to get another sim update once the new firmware is added or not?
