e61 Voice tagging not functioning (freezing phone).

I recently updated my e61 firmware from 2x to 3x. After a successful update, my phone no longer recognizing my voice for voicetagging. I am assuming that this is because my old speech patterns were reset. Not a big deal.

Now things have changed. instead of not being able to locate the appropriate voice tag, my freezes midway through and i lose my the use of my send and end keys until i reboot my phone. ive done a soft reboot and would like to avoid a reflash or a hard reboot is at all possible. does anybody know what could be happening?
