N80 uses Bluetooth 1.2 (original spec was for bluetooth 2.0)
As such Stereo Bluetooth headsets are NOT supported.

thanks for reply, but I'd like to hear it from someone who actually has one and has tried it (no offence) since I've heard the same about the N91 but have actually heard from someone who has one and the N91 does support A2DP.
Like I said no offence and thanks for reply, but if anyone who has one can try it out that would be great.
cheers

Does anyone know if this can be added at a later date through a firmware update or is the N80 missing some hardware needed?

i dont get why they didnt put Bluetooth 2.0, when a phone like 6270 (i mean it was released earlier) can have bluetooth 2.0 then why not the N80. it Really is a shame!

Try this guys !
But can't you not pair a stereo bluetooth headset to an N80 by using an A2DP adaptor (male) to attach to the 3.5mm headphone adapter (female) that comes with the N80 in the box ? These A2DP Adaptors usually come with most Bluetooth headsets anyway. Or is it necessary that the Phone device has to be 2.0 complaint to stream stereo music ?
Later and good luck

There is a proprietary MP3 player program called "Blueplayer" in HK released bundled with nokia smartphones so that it can enable full A2DP profile on the phone. The drawback is that activating the AD2P function requires using that Blueplayer program to play your MP3 which means you cant use the nokia music player. It also requires users to only use their branded "I-tech" A2DP earphone in conjunction to the Blueplayer program. It wont be a problem if u happen to own an "I-Tech" headset, but here is the download link:

Fortunately there is also a so-called "cracked" version which allows users to use any bluetooth stereo headset and the download page is here: (requires forum registration)
