N70 Picture editing and Reset problem

I am having a couple of problems with my new N70.

Firstly it appears to randomly select which pictures it will edit with the built in picture editor. Sods law says it won't open the ones I actually want to edit but will open other's fine. Pictures which it will and won't edit have been taken on the camera with the same settings within minutes of each other. The only error i recieve when trying to open one of the offending camera images is - "Error opening image".

The second problem I am having is that the phone seems to like reseting itself. It does this very silently so you have to been looking at the phone to see it, however i saw it reset 3 times on its own yesterday. This is on the the second day of ownership. Phone was fully charged and working fine at the time of reset. The phone had no applications open and was on the screen saver screen!

Any thoughts?

Cheers
Callum

I have not had any of these problems and I've been hammering this n70 hard for a few weeks now.

Not 1 reset, even with bluetooth connections all day. And i tried editing my pics that I have taken, not 1 error when opening.

Are you using the supplied memory card?

The reset problem seems better today.. i'll keep an eye on it but it hasn't reset so far! Not that i've seen anyway... it has certainly never reset while i've been using it.. only on standby!

Yes I'm using the card that came with the phone. I have tried copying them to the phone memory to see if this made a difference but to no avail! It seems totally random as to which i can edit... some are absolutely fine but others give me this error...

Software version -
V 2.0539.1.2

We are using n70 with different fw. Mine is 2.0536.0.2.

And mine is also factory un-locked and un-branded.

I have not had a single problem as others have had.

Let me guess, you have a locked, branded phone right?

I have also experienced the photo problem, and I found out that taking pictures with the button on the side ( next to the cardslot) - the picture won't edit. But when I take pictures with the middle joystickbutton - the pictures edit fine... All imported pictures from pc will edit..

Does this work for you to?

My side button pics work fine for editing. Just wish there was a way to actually take a pic in landscape mode when you're holding the phone in landscape using the side button.

Man, I feel for you guys with branded phones. This is the first unbranded phone I've bought and I'll will never buy a branded phone again.

Being a month-to-month Tmo subscriber is awesome, the freedom of being able to jump from carrier to carrier is a great feeling. Cingular is rolling out UMTS right now and I may jump to them for the faster data speeds-Tmo is only Class10 Edge and won't be rolling out their faster network where I live until next year. And I'll be month-to-month with Cingular as well since I already have my own factory unlocked n70.

Let your carrier know about the problems with the branded phone, I mean for all the money it cost I would be pissed. Some bitching might get you some money off your bill or some kind of rebate. It can't hurt.
