I miss the global search

I'm originali coming from the world of palm, and on those PDAs you coult search the adressbook (contacts) for any part of any entry field, i.a. part of a telefon number or a name or company name etc. (not to mention global search)...
I simply can't seem to do that on my 9300, everything else is perfect but the search thing is killing me. In aquacalender you can do the global search but again not inside contacts (bug?)...
Can anyone give me a hint...thanks guys...
