6680 Gallery Folders
On the MMC I have in my 6680 the images are seperated into various folders (there are more than 4,000) to make searching for images quicker. But when I put the card into the phone and view through the gallery, it shows all the images one after the other, not respecting the folder setup I have put in place. Am I missing something obvious here? How can I set it up so I can view the folders and select my images in such a way? TIA.

Its pretty simple dude just create the folders in your MMC card useing your mobile and move the images into the respective folders, you will not be able to move the imges into folders which u created in the MMC card via PC. (may be TRY FExplorer that might work )

I think you misinterpreted the original message, as it stated that the user has already created multiple folders on the MMC for organizing all their images. The problem here is that the Gallery application chooses to completely ignore this directory structure and displays all the images in the top level "images" folder with this application. Unless you then create new folders (i.e. duplicate folders) and move all the images into these, which given how incredibly slow the Gallery application is, takes an eternity!! The only solution I have found it to not use this useless Gallery app at all. I'm glad it's not just me then.
For viewing images I use the Image Manager application as not only can you see multiple pics at once but it uses the existing MMC/phone directory structure created by File Manager, FExplorer, etc.
For opening a video I just use the File Manager, FExplorer or shortcuts in Go To.
For music I just open OGG player or whatever MP3 app I'm using at that time.

On a similar note, can you 'hide' certain images so that they are not so readily viewable through Gallery? On the 6230, I could put certain image files in an inconspicous folder like Graphics where nobody browses. Now if I want a 'private' image file on the handset, Gallery will pick it up where ever it is stored. Any thoughts?

I use the Stacker application to pack (i.e. compress) these images, which also changes the file extension. Then Gallery no longer recognizes them as images and so they won't be displayed.

Ta for that, went to Handandgo and got app. Just what I was after, just a shame you have to unpack to view, but hey.
Cheers.
