Unblock (on Vodafone) ?

Any managed to do this of dialing 191 - keep getting automated response saying number not reconised ?

Also if the phone is unblocked I assume that you can use the native Sendo updates OK ??

Thanks!

As a new owner i could be wrong however...

1) I simply rang Vodafone and paid £20 ( as id not had the phone for a year ) and they gave me the unlock code.

2) No. The handset is locked into using the Vodafone firmware. Apparently the vodafone updated is about to be relased.

Regards

G

You dont really give very much info here. I have just bought an X from the "vodafone store" on eBay, on PAYG

I currently have a vodafone contract, so I just swapped the sim out, and it works with my X, and I suspect this is what you are trying too.

For a while at the start the 191 number gave the error you describe, but after some time it just started working.

If you are having trouble, call support and ask them, they really don't care where the phone came from etc, they will just help

Regards

Simon

i got my code but am having problems entering it as i cannot find how to enter p and w on the handset....

update: got it unlocked i believe... couldnt get the pause and wait codes.. so i saved it as an entry on another phone, bluetoothed the contact details as a business card and called it... unlocked. now phew!!

My problem is a little less techy and a little more about the decor. Having got an unlocked X off eBay, I found out it is the Vodafone version with the Vodafone start-up and exit screens. How do I change these? (not being a huge fan of Vfone myself )

The startup animation is part of the firmware, so can only be removed by using a different firmware.

There was talk about getting Voda to approve Sendo allowing generic firmwares to work on the Voda handsets, but I don't know if that rumour ever came to anything...

How exactly? I've been on Vodafone a year I think, does that mean they will unlock my phone for free? How do I go about doing that? (noob explanation if possible?).
