Be aware! 6620 with HS-3, not stereo!

just confirmed with Nokia support that the HS-3 is not stereo with 6620, it's stereo only with phones with FM radio fuction. I'm wondering if anyone truely modified their own headphone and get stereo sound, i know that pin 11-14 are the sound pins L-, L+, R-, R+, i also modified one myself but still got the same mono sound, which makes me wonder the pin layout might not be correct.

Please let me know if someone successfully made it with ur own headphone.

for those who wanna buy one, go with the HS-8, nokia support said it's stereo on 6620.

Hi, for those who use 6620 and stereo headphone,

In order to make sure what u got is true stereo, i made up a left channel only 5 sec mp3 and hope all of u who think u r listening stereo mp3 can try it out, if u hear both channel playing, then it's mono!(true stereo will only show u left ear sound, u can verify this by playing on ur pc first)

Please let us know the results and which headphone u are using, so that we know which one is truely stereo. I heard people with HDS-3 claimed true stereo, hope they can confirm.

I recently received this reply from Nokia:

"The Nokia HS-2R: FM Radio Headset is not a stereo headset. However, the stereo headset option for your Nokia 6620 phone is the Nokia HS-3WH: Fashion Stereo Headset, the Nokia HDS-3 Stereo Headset and the Nokia HS-3BK: Fashion Stereo Headset."

So is the HS-3 stereo or not???

What is the FULL model no. of your HS-3? I'm assuming the HS-3WH and BK are the same???

Yes, mine is the hs-3wh -> white color, the bk is the black color, same.

just confirmed that if u buy the genuine HS-3 or HDS-3 from stores like cingular, it gives u stereo mp3 playback, don't try ur luck on ebay, most are fake.
