Auto on/off e71?
I'm looking at getting a e71, but one of the greatest things about my blackberry is the auto on/off program. It saves alot of battery, and no unwanted call in the middle of the night. I have searched all over and just havn't seen a program like this for S60. The e71 is a smartphone as well right? So why isn't there a program for S60?

Profile Schedular
DrJukka has made an Application , that can change Profiles during the day . For the night time you can set it to Silent or if you wish to extra loud ! The App must be signed by yourself . See website :
http://www.drjukka.com/ProfScheduler.html
I don't know if ProfileScheduler can be set to Offline and back to Online .
I always use the manual way : On/Off or Silent/General/Airplane/Meeting etc .
For Silent : just press # key

Just a quick note, but I was abraod recently so turned off all my data (to save money)
Without push email etc, but still 3G voice and web during the day, my E71 battery lasted 5 days from full charge to 1 bar.
Turning off overnight to save battery is unlikely to become a factor for you!

yeah theres other programs that switch profiles, to be able to switch back on would require firmware stuff.
so yeah set it to silent on a night, or if you really are conserned with killing the mamoth battery get it to switch to offline on a night (it will use next to nothing on off line when you are not pressing its buttons).

Thanks guys! I guess that's what I'll have to do. I currently have Blackberry Pearl and don't know what size battery it is, but I only have to charge it like every 4 days.

...assuming you have to turn it off to last that long though? God I want an e71 so frigging bad right now, the battery times are praised all over the place and the phone and symbian is just my style 100%...
Gotta keep a little cool head though, summer sales are coming up and also the new e71i is just a few months off which too might should lower the price on the standard e71.
