N82 Gets a 33% Price Cut From Nokia

Nokia's N82 has been cut to £199 in their UK Online Shop from £295. Yes there are some new models on the way, but the N82 is still a high spec and respected smartphone; even Steve has belatedly come round to its charms after his initial review.

Read on in the full article.

Ain't there anymore

If you go to the Nokia UK Online store directly rather than thru' the link in the article, the N82 is not listed there anymore.

this is great news, its actually cheaper than my 5800, yet its so powerful!

At this price, it becomes nokia's BEST PHONE for under 200 pounds!

Didn't I see a news item on here stating the same thing several weeks back? Sure I did.

Anyway, agreed, the N82 is definitely Nokia's best phone. How anyone can think of it as "old" or "out of date" I don't know. If they released it brand new now with an identical spec, people would be praising it for it's advances. The N97 and all the rest are quite frankly a joke for all those of us normal people that don't want to lumber around with a separate digital camera (LED flash does not, and never will, cut it for any night shots at all).

It's bizarre that Nokia don't get this, it really is. I can only imagine there is some unfortunate but simple fact that shows that they make more profit from current handset specs than they do from an N82 type spec.

I also wonder if they've been influenced by the "cameras don't matter" attitude displayed by the iPhone which is only now being upgraded to what on a Nokia would be a low end, yester-year spec (3.2MP, video, no flash).

N82 is not only great at everything (sound, video, camera, extra gfx chip, etc) but can take a total beating. Mine's taken my full bodyweight under multiple snowboarding impacts, and 2 full immersions in water (visibly inside lens, electronics and screen) with only a little while to dry out. It's worked perfectly and required no maintenance ever.

Wow, this is so awesome, shame I can't see any price differences here in Sweden. I don't understand why Nokia doesn't put more focus on devices with xenon flashes? After all, it's been almost 1.5 years now since they last announced a xenon flash device :(

I would love to see a new candybar with xenon flash and the N86 camera and FP2. They should be able to get it a bit thinner than N82 too.

Also got my email update today to say its back in stock and i have placed my order. I will be downgrading from a n96 to n82. I tried oled n85 and althought it has a brilliant display its complete fade out in direct sunlight let me down. I have friends with under gbp100 sonys that take a better picture in sunlight and they can actually show me their images. I darent even try to take an image or even try to attempt to read a text on the n85. I cant see that the n86 will be any different just because it has a glass on top and i really want to see a new candybar version of the new os in December with the n82s form and xenon flash.

The N82's excellent features and specs were produced almost 2 years ago. It saddens us s60 fans that Nokia isn't releasing a better N82 phone. I think Internal management has decided to downgrade the hardware due to:
1. stupidity
2. internal politics/bureaucracy
3. Squeeze more sales from slowly upgrading specs

Yeah well the internal management's probably still on a drinking binge celebrating the success of the N95.

My new black n82 arrived today. Yeah. I think the titanium is exactly the same as the white barring the back cover isnt it?
