Making The Connection Is More Vital Then Ever

There has been some interesting discussion online about the upcoming Palm Pre and the announced Media Sync capabilities that has raised some eyebrows in tech circles, specifically the ability of the Pre to sync itself to iTunes. Researchers (including 'DVD John') are theorising that the Pre is pretending to be an iPod when connected, which raises a lot of potentially tricky questions. Palm as a company is making all the right moves, almost like a veteran of its game. Inbuilt itunes support pretty much explains how in sync they are with their customers.

Its good to see so much competition building up in mobile space. Nokia, give up on your 'One feature short' strategy while you still have time.

I personally love Nokia Multimedia Transfer for OS X, it's as integrated, automatic and unobtrusive as proper iTunes syncing, without it being really iTunes syncing. Palm should have taken that approach to avoid the drama from apple.
