storing sms that are being sent and recieved.., how?...

hello there,

could you tell me where do i exatly start looking?

i'd like my app to store the number of sms you've send and recieved from this particular person, so this is what i was thinking, the app should be aware of any sms that will come, and once one has arrived, it should go to the contacts and try to retrieve the name and increment "total sms recieved from this person" by one, and vice versa,

anyway i already tried looking at the engine api guide, messaging api guide as well as the telephony, but i still have no idea what to do,

i guess my problem really lies at... how does my app 'listen' to when a sms arrives,

thanks for your time,
