Objects in MMS messages on N70 question
Hi all,
I've had my N70 for some time now and have had no problems with it so far!
There is one thing I am wondering is why cant I attach .MID or audio files to an MMS message like a friend of mine can do on his Sony Ericsson? I composed an own ringtone in MIDI format and wanted to send it but it didn't work and I understand that it might have to do with maybe DRM but since I created myself it cant be that! Any ideas? Many thanks, Chris

I was not even aware of this.
Tried to insert a midi-file in a new MMS message and get the message
"unable to insert copy protected material"...
Come on NOKIA, this is ridicilous!!!
I was aware of that sending SIS/JAR/MID files from one phone to another
is alos prevented/denied due to copy rights/DRM, which also is ridicilous
since I might have made these files myself. Even more ridicilous that you
cannot insert these files into an MMS..
We have to e-mail Nokia about it, unless somebody is capable of modifying the
firmware for the N70 removing these limitations.

Hi,
I agree! Why is the option there that you can attach it to an MMS message? The MIDIfile I created was not copyrighted and the phone reported unable to send content in this format, i am using a None english version of the N70 so I hope you understand what I mean!
The Sony Ericsson seem to be able to send allmost any file including MIDI and MP3. I even tried to use Fileman but of course it didn't work! I was eventually going to upgrade to firmware 5 but since it didn't fix the problem I might wait!

To send 'protected' files, just rename the extension, eg, smallville.sis to smallville.txt, then send, and rename back to smallville.sis

Hi,
Hi tried renaming the .MID file to filename.-midi, but with no luck. It still cant send it but now I did it with the original file manager that came with the phone. My trial for Fileman has expired, but will purchase it soon.
