Nokia 3250 previewed at Trends Berlin

Nokia has been showing off a forthcoming Series 60 phone, the Nokia 3250, at the Trends Berlin event last night. The 3250 is a music phone (as a 3 series phone it is likely to be targeted as a budget version of the N91 - no WiFi and no hard disk). Features include a fully rotatable bottom section incorprating a 2.0 MP camera (similar to the N90 in design, but lower quality lens), with music buttons on one side and a standard (3230 like) keypad on the other. Read on for pictures and further information.

Initial indications of specifications are that the 3250 is a Series 60 Platform 3 / Symbian OS 9 device. The phone will likely support both MP3, AAC and WMV (including the DRM WMV files licensed by Nokia in February), and can therefore be used in conjunction with subscription based music services.

The screen supports both portrait and landscape (as with the N90 only for some applications such as gallery and camera) modes perhaps suggesting the higher resolution of 352 x 416.

Memory expansion is via mini memory card (one source says mini-SD, the other RS-MMC). Compared to the N91 there is no inbuilt hard disk, no WiFi and no 3G.

In summary this seems to be the budget child (or mass market product, if you prefer) of a cross between a N90 and a N91.

The official announcement and launch of the phone is expected some time in the next week and as such all specificiations are unconfirmed until that time.

Thanks to eDor and pra for the information.

It definately shows it's 3230 ancestry. I'd be a little concerned about the ergonomics of the device - it's predecessor wasn't particularly friendly to use and I doubt the rotating section w/ camera would make things any easier.
